Over nearly five years Ted served as the Senior Vice President of Acquisitionsand as the Head of Operations for True Investments, the single family rental investment platform of a Newport Beach, CA based family office. True Investments is a leading institutional investor in the affordable single family rental investment space. Because of a strong desire to bring his institutional experience working with the largest of single family rental investors to 1031 buyers, Ted shifted focus to Conatus Real Estate to provide his clients of all sizes with the tools utilized by the most sophisticated investors of single family rental property.

Throughout his career Ted has worked primarily in some industry segment aligned with Single Family Residential Property. A strong foundation was built early on as an entrepreneur providing construction services to luxury homeowners and spec developers in Manhattan Beach, CA. Ted emboldened his negotiation prowess working as a Trade Agent with a fortune 500 homebuilder, Richmond American Homes, negotiating contracts with each of the 39 trades involved in building a community of homes at a time. Roots of a deep background in analyticscan be traced to a position held in CMBS securitization immersed in Wall Street caliber quantitative analytics modeling of a platform that issued over $6B in bonds during tenure. The consummate Single Family Rental Background is rounded out by distressed asset acquisition expertise gained pricing large non-performing loan pools in an analytics capacity and on the ground advisement of REO assets in Major US markets in an Asset Management capacity for a $1B+ non-performing loan fund, Arch Bay Capital.

In a professional career spanning to the turn of the century, Ted has also advised startups in a myriad of industries as well as providing quantitative analytics leadership in several projects as a consultant to clients of all sizes. Ted earned an MBA from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in finance and achieved a BA from Linfield College in Mathematics and Philosophy.
